POLYSACCHARIDE/CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITE

Disclosed is a polysaccharide/carbon nanotube composite which is composed of a carbon nanotube and a modified polysaccharide wherein a residue of a monosaccharide or oligosaccharide is introduced into a lateral part of the main chain. As a polysaccharide, beta-1,3-glucan is preferably used. This composite is prepared by mixing the modified polysaccharide dissolved in a polar non-protic solvent or strong alkaline solution with an aqueous dispersion of the carbon nanotube, and then incubating the resulting mixture.
