TETRAFLUOROETHYLENE COPOLYMER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer excellent in crack resistance and having low dielectric loss tangent, and to provide a method for production thereof. SOLUTION: This TFE copolymer is produced from tetrafluoroethylene and perfluoro(alkylvinyl ether) represented by general formula, Rf-O-CF=CF2(wherein Rf is 1-5C perfluoroalkyl). In the copolymer, the number of unstable terminal groups is 10 to 100 per 106of carbon atoms and further, the total number of -COF and/or -COOH among the above unstable terminal groups is also 10 to 100 per 106of carbon atoms.
