The device has a garment bag (1) with a hanger and two lower edge points. The hanger and points are fastened in a zone of an upper part of a trunk (6) of a vehicle in such a way that the bag is maintained in a horizontal position in the upper part of the trunk. The bag has a rod that is introduced inside a hook situated in a base of the trunk. The rod has two ends fastened on a side of the upper part. An independent claim is also included for a notchback type vehicle.
