OPTICAL RECORDING MATERIAL, OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND OPTICAL RECORDING REPRODUCING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording material containing a polymer compound having a new azobenzene structure which is effective for optical recording with little absorption loss of light, to provide an optical recording medium capable of optical recording in a wide wavelength region and having high-density memory property to record a large amount of data at a high speed, and to provide an optical recording and reproducing apparatus to carry out optical recording and reproducing by using the above recording medium.

SOLUTION: The optical recording material contains a polymer compound expressed by general formula (1). In the optical recording medium using the above optical recording material, multiple recording with low scattering, high speed and high sensitivity can be performed even when the recording layer is formed as a thick film for high recording density.
