<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a fuel cell structure by combining a partial oxidation reforming reaction, a self heat reforming reaction, and a steam reforming reaction without using any special heating source, in which deposition of carbon is effectively prevented. <P>SOLUTION: As a starting gas at the time of operation start, a mixed gas of air for starting and hydrocarbon gas is used. The mixed gas is supplied to a fuel cell main body through a reformer, and the air for power generation is supplied to the fuel cell main body through a separate passage, and the fuel cell main body and the reformer are heated by the combustion of the gas exhausted from the fuel cell main body. By the temperature rise of the reformer, a partial oxidation reforming reaction is generated and then, steam is supplied to the reformer, and the partial oxidation reforming reaction is changed into a self heat reforming reaction, and further, by stopping supply of the starting air, a normal operation by a steam reforming reaction is carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
