Each board like molding contains a flat insert around which plastic is molded on all sides. The insert may be printed on one or both sides, can be read from the outside and is made of a cellulose-based material, recycled material or plastic film. A molded product in the form of a bread cutting board is made of a transparent plastic approved for use in contact with foodstuffs and having good heat and dimensional stability. Inserts may have a coating on one or both sides including phosphorescent pigments. Plastic injected onto both sides of an insert is of the same plastic material, but one side may be colored or opaque. The front or rear side may be formed into a narrow edge to create a hanging point. During injection several hanging points can be formed in the rear side or may pass through from one side to the other. The four edges on the front side may be rounded off or molded into a frame profile. For sending in an envelope without damaging other letters during transit in post edges and corners of the molding are rounded during injection. In an alternative method of manufacture the parallelepiped shaped product is produced by placing an insert in a plastic housing comprising two or more parts and then permanently closing the housing by clamping or heat shrinking the individual parts.
