<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intraoral illumination device capable of detachably attaching a light emitting means for applying excitation light or illumination light to an abnormal region inside the oral cavity to a dental instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The intraoral illumination device consists of an adaptor body 5 of the light emitting means, a power supply box 6, and a mounting member 7. The mounting member is, for example, for detachably mounting the light emitting means on an air turbine hand-piece body 1. The adaptor body has a plurality of light emitting elements L. The light with such a wavelength as can extract the unusual region inside the oral cavity or illumination light is emitted from the light emitting elements for illuminating the front of a treatment instrument 3. The driving of the light emitting elements is selected by a switch SW1, and the light with different wavelengh can be selected for illumination. The quantity of light emitted from the light emitting elements is changed by a switch SW2.
