PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liner for a high pressure gas container, attaining compatibility of barrier performance of gas (especially, hydrogen) and shock resistance at a low temperature, and simply and inexpensively formed by forming of a monolayer structure. SOLUTION: This liner 2 for a high pressure gas container 1 is made of ethylene-vinyl alchol copolymer (A) containing 20 to 35 mol% of ethylene and styrene elastomer (B), and the average dispersed particle diameter of (B) in matrix (A) is 1μor less (preferably 0.5μor less), and the composition proportion of (B) to (A)+(B) is 15 to 40 wt%, and MI of (A) at 210°C is preferably 3 to 50.
