<p>An optical information reader capable of high-sensitivity high-accuracy reliable identification even when the quantity or the wavelength of light from an object from which optical information is to be read extends over a wide range. The optical information reader comprises a substrate where, at one or more immobilization positions, one or more biological substances labeled by a combination of existence or extent of a plurality of kinds of optical labeling element are immobilized, one or more light receiving end parts capable of receiving light from the substrate, an optical information measuring section for obtaining optical information on a specific object on the substrate from electric signals generated by converting the light received at the light receiving end parts through photoelectric elements having different characteristics dependent on the measurement object, and a scanning section for scanning the substrate by moving the substrate and the light receiving end parts relatively. The optical information measuring section has an optical waveguide.</p> |
