PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small cylindrical brushless step motor. SOLUTION: In the cylindrical step motor comprising a rotor consisting of two poles of permanent magnets fixed to a shaft, a two-pole stator being magnetically coupled with the permanent magnets via a gap, and coils being magnetically coupled with the stator, the core of the above coil is U-shaped in cross section, and it is arranged so that the direction of the magnetic field generated by the coil may be parallel with the rotational plane of the above rotor, and the above two-pole stator consists of a cylindrical part which has a slit part, a bridge part, and a transformed part for generating retaining torque and is magnetically coupled with the above permanent magnet, and a coil joint where both ends of the above core U-shaped in cross section are connected.
