PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly detect and alarm the possibility of breakout of a fire, to exhibit the fire prevention function and to minimize the damage of the fire by securely detecting the change of temperature without being affected by the air flow inside a storage compartment or the rolling/pitching of a ship, etc. SOLUTION: The fire detection/alarming system comprises a number of sensor units 5, a plurality of control units 8, and a central monitoring device 11. The sensor units 5 have thermo-pile sensors 3 for measuring the temperature and/or the change of temperature on the surface of one or a plurality of automobiles 2 and detecting the breakout of a fire based on the information on the measured temperature, and are dispersed and set on the ceiling of the automobile storage compartment 1. Each control unit 8 consists of one set of a plurality of the sensor units for receiving the detection signal from the thermo-pile sensor 3 in each sensor unit 5 and the information on the position of the sensor unit 5.
