PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated article obtained by forming a recession/projection decoration pattern on a back side surface or a surface of a transparent or translucent substrate by a projection part and a recessed groove or a projection part or a recessed part and injecting a coating material to a pattern surface formed with the recession/projection pattern from a constant direction to apply the coating material thereto; a compact vessel coated so as to separately coat colors by successively injecting coating materials of different colors from a constant direction; other multi-color separately coating coated article; and a coating method. SOLUTION: As the coated article, the substrate provided with the decoration pattern formed by the recession/projection surface is coated in the pattern surface facing in a constant direction; and further, coating by different colors on every pattern surface facing in a constant direction is applied onto the substrate provided with the decoration pattern formed with the recession/projection surfaces.
