PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a polyether, capable of improving productivity and capable of decreasing an amount of an adsorbing agent to be used. SOLUTION: This method for purifying the polyether comprises treating a crude polyether (d) which is obtained by addition polymerization of an alkylene oxide (c) to an active hydrogen-containing compound (b) in the presence of an basic catalyst (a), wherein the crude polyether is sequentially treated by steps (1) and (2) as follows: (1) the crude polyether is put into water, then heat-treated, and subjected to liquid separation by using a liquid/liquid separation apparatus; and (2) a crude polyether (e) which is obtained by the step (1) is adjusted by an acid so as to have a pH of 3 to 9, then an acid adsorbing agent and/or an alkali adsorbing agent are added to and mixed with the polyether (e), and further the polyether (e) is filtered and dehydrated.
