PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera which is easily found out even if it is inadvertently released from a hand in underwater photography. SOLUTION: The digital camera 2 is equipped with a weight 19 preventing a camera body 2a from floating under water, 1st and 2nd sensors 20 and 21 detecting force applied to a grip 16 and a strap 17 grasped by an operator, an antenna 13 and a communication I/F 53 mediating the transmission and reception of a signal with external equipment, and a CPU 33 judging whether or not the operator grasps the grip 16 and the strap 17 based on the result of detection by the 1st and the 2nd sensors 20 and 21, releasing the held state of the weight 19 by a magnet 22 and an electromagnetic coil 23 when prescribed time elapses on a condition that the operator does not grasp them so as to automatically separate the weight 19 from the camera body 2a, and transmitting an informing signal for informing of the location of the camera body 2a to the external equipment through the antenna 13 and the communication I/F 53.
