PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the rotor structure of a rotary electric machine in which the quality is stabilized by making the temperature of field winding uniform and centrifugal force of a high speed machine can be sustained easily. SOLUTION: In the rotor structure of a rotary electric machine having a plurality of salient pole portions where a vent is made through a rotor core in the axial direction, and a ventilation duct is provided perpendicularly to the axial direction of the rotor core, the ventilation duct is provided only on the exhaust side of the rotor core. Consequently, temperature gradient is moderated in the rotor, temperature of the field winding can be made uniform, and local aging of the insulation material can be prevented.
