PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor which prevents an unauthorized user from illicitly using data of a hard disk device while securing easy operability for a regular user, a starting method thereof, and a staring program thereof. SOLUTION: An information processor 1 having a first password stored therein in advance is provided with; an input part 5; an attachable/detachable storage part 21; confirmation means 40 and 41 which compare a password inputted at the start time with the first password and confirm whether a second password is set in the storage part or not in the case of non-coincidence between them; a generation means 42 which generates a second password in the case that it is confirmed by the confirmation means that the second password is not set; and a means 43 which stores the second password generated by the generation means in the storage part.
