A process field device (102) for coupling to a two wire process control loop (110) includes field device circuitry (122) and a switching regulator (152) to power the circuitry (122). A series regulator (156) provides a regulated supply voltage to the switching regulator (152). A noise filter (158) reduces the amount of noise from switching regulator (152) which enters the two wire process control loop (110).
