METHOD, DEVICE AND PROGRAM FOR ESTIMATING TARGET PRESENCE PROBABILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a large change from being caused in a target presence probability of a pixel in which a tracking object is present even in case the color of the tracking object is slightly changed between images.

SOLUTION: This method comprises: storing an input image series in a storage means; storing a reference image selected by displaying the image series stored in the storage means in a memory; acquiring an area that is a tracking source in the reference image designated by displaying the reference image in the memory; converting the reference image to an image expressed by hue components of HSV display color system; forming a histogram from the hue components of each pixel in the area; estimating the tracking target presence probability for every hue component from the histogram; and correcting the tracking target presence probability.
