POLYMER, HIGHLY TRANSPARENT POLYIMIDE, RESIN COMPOSITION AND ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer improving the transparency of the polymer readily discoloring because of formation of a conjugated state according to a new method different from a conventional method and to especially preferably provide a polyimide having high transparency without deteriorating characteristics essentially possessed by the polyimide such as heat resistance.

SOLUTION: The polymer having a part in which an unsaturated bond containing aπelectron orbit and a single bond are alternately continuous and improving the transmittance of a visible light region by severing at least a part of the conjugated state formed by theπelectron orbit in the molecule with the steric structure of the molecule or diluting the conjugated state is provided. Furthermore, the highly transparent polyimide having a repeating unit represented by formula (1) (wherein, R1to R6are each independently a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group which may mutually be bound; and R7is a bivalent organic group) is provided as one mode thereof.
