PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device which efficiently carry out flashing operation. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection device 10 has a liquid ejection head 100 having a liquid discharge section for discharging liquid, and a target arranging section 130 for arranging a target. The target arranging section has therein a redundantly ejected liquid sucking section 133 and a flashing liquid absorbing section 132. The redundantly ejected liquid sucking section functions to absorb the liquid ejected outside an edge of a target when the liquid is discharged. The flashing liquid absorbing section 132 is located on one side of the redundantly ejected liquid sucking section away from the target, and adjacently to the redundantly ejected liquid sucking section, and functions to absorb the liquid discharged by flashing by the liquid discharge section.
