PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an E-mail device allowing the confirmation of contents of E-mail addressed to one's device sent from the other E-mail device even when a line to a mail management device is not connected in an E-mail system composed of a plurality of E-mail devices, and the mail management device storing E-mail sent from one E-mail device to the other E-mail device. SOLUTION: When a predetermined time comes, a reception mail inquiry process is activated in the E-mail device 100, the line to the mail management device 101 is connected, and an inquiry is carried out as to whether or not the mail management device 101 stores mail addressed to one's device.
