Gathering and stitching machine for brochures

The gather-stitcher comprises a stitch machine, an incrementally fed output station, a feed device to feed the brochures along a trim line and transporting components, which carry the brochures from the output station to the feed device. Sensors (46) transmit phase positions of the machine and signals from the transport components to a control system (48) which processes these signals to control one of the transport components, so that at any phase of the stitch machine the nominal trim line is on the trim plane independently of the brochure width.
