ALUMINUM ALLOY EXTRUDATE HAVING EXCELLENT FORMABILITY, AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy extrudate having high strength and especially post-welding strength and excellent formability. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy containing 4.5 to 7mass% Zn, 0.2 to 0.38% Mg, 0.25 to 0.4mass% Cu and 0.1 to 0.3wt% Zr and further containing 0.05 to 0.3mass% Si and 0.05 to 0.3mass% Fe in the range of (Fe mass%/Si mass%)=1 to 3 and consisting of the balance Al and inevitable impurities is subjected to a homogeneization treatment, then to extrusion working.
