PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform time-out processing of an unused address table from among address tables registered in a bridge device for relaying Ethernet and IEEE1394. SOLUTION: Every time an address table AT is newly registered in which address information in a transmission format of data in the Ethernet and address information in a transmission format of data in the IEEE1394 and registered time data are set, the address table AT is disposed at the head of a linear table in which the registered address tables AT are aligned in a line. Every time an address table AT in the linear table is used, the address table AT is moved to the head of the linear table, the registration time data of the address table AT is updated into the present time. It is sequentially checked from the tail to the head of the linear table whether or not the address table AT is not used over a predetermined time using the registration time data, and the checking is finished if the address table AT used over the predetermined time is found.
