PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the bending moment working on a permanent magnet and also to prevent the breakage of the permanent magnet due to plastic transformation or fatigue fracture. SOLUTION: A rotor for a dynamo-electric machine is equipped with a rotor coil 1, a first pole core 5 and a second pole core 6 which each have cylinders 2a and 2b, and discs 3a and 3b, where rotor coils 1 are wound and two or more claw-shaped magnetic poles 4a and 4b which are magnetized into N poles and S poles, and a permanent magnet 7 which reduces the leaked magnetic flux between adjacent claw-shaped magnetic poles 4a and 4b. Guards 8a, which project in its circumferential direction and regulate the diametrical shift of the permanent magnets 7 due to its centrifugal force, are made at both flanks of the claw-shaped magnetic poles 4a and 4b, and a groove 9, which displaces it more greatly than the claw-shaped magnetic pole 4b of the second pole core 6, is made at the disc 3a of the first pole core 5.
