PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a check valve of simple structure capable of preventing increase of the size thereof. SOLUTION: The check valve 1 is provided with a flow-in opening 33, a flow-out opening 34, a housing part 4 formed with a valve element housing space 11 and a valve element 7 housed in the valve element housing space 11. The valve element 7 has a valve element main body 5 and a seal member 6 separated into a plurality of projecting pieces 29 and 30 in a downstream side end thereof, and when fluid flows into from the flow-in opening 33, an interval between the plurality of projecting pieces 29 and 30 is reduced by the fluid pressure, and the fluid passes through a clearance between the seal member 6 and the inner wall 25 of the housing part 4, and flows out from the flow-out opening 34. When the fluid reversely flows from the flow-out opening 34, the interval between the plurality of projecting pieces 29 and 30 is increased by the fluid pressure, and the most outside projecting piece 30 abuts on the inner wall 25 of the housing part 4 to shut off a flow of the fluid.
