PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a select assist device for an automatic transmission enabling range switch operation at a time of failure by a mechanical connection of a selection lever and a range position switch device, capable of enlarging degree of freedom of lay out by miniaturizing the selection lever and providing selection lever operation force characteristics in response to demand. SOLUTION: This device is provided with LPF 481 detecting temperature characteristic change value (temperature drift) quantity of a torque sensor 21 and a second input operation force calculation part 49 calculating a second input operation force which is given by compensating characteristic change detected by LPF 481 in relation to a first input operation force.
