The cabinet has a rack (10) sliding on runners (11, 12) arranged on inner sides of vertical posts (1, 2). Each runner is adjustable in height by protrusions cooperating with notches (5). The posts are made of thin sheet, and a stiffener (13) of adjustable length extends near the front side, perpendicularly to the posts. The stiffener is maintained against outer sides of the posts and permits sliding of the rack. The vertical posts (1, 2) are equipped with two series of notches (3, 4) superimposed vertically and spaced longitudinally. Holding units (6, 7) hold the posts, and reinforcement units (8, 9) are provided in the back side. An independent claim is also included for a use of a storage cabinet.
