<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide red-eye compensation technology by which red-eye compensation maintaining color balance with the whole face is performed even to a photographed image in which the whole face is reddish by photography with insufficient strobe light under red base illumination such as tungsten illumination. <P>SOLUTION: In a red-eye processing means 90, a color seepage degree operation part 91 which calculates a degree of red seepage of a face area from a pixel value of a pixel included in the face area obtained from a face detection unit 80, a red-eye degree determination part 92 which determines a compensation degree of the red-eye compensation based on the calculated color seepage degree, a pupil extraction part 93 which extracts a pupil area from the face area obtained from the face detection unit 80 and a red-eye compensation part 94 which performs the red-eye compensation to the pupil area based on a red-eye compensation degree determined by the red-eye compensation degree determination part 92 are constructed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
