The device has a tube (100) and a rod (230) capable of relative guided displacement and mounted in series. An elastic unit (310) integrated to the tube or rod is pre-stressed along a bending direction, in order to apply a friction force to the other he tube or rod. An actuator or a piston (400) stresses the elastic unit to reverse the bending direction of the elastic unit in order to modify the friction force. The friction force tends to damp down the displacement of the other of the tube and rod. An independent claim is also included for an application of a damper device to damp a force exerted by a backward movement of tube of the fire arm.
