PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vinylpyrrolidone polymer with which the polymerization time, etc., are shortened and a reaction apparatus is readily cleaned, in the method for producing the vinylpyrrolidone polymer by radical polymerization in an aqueous solution. SOLUTION: The reaction is carried out by using the reaction apparatus using a metal with≤60% iron content in parts in contact with a reaction system or a material other than the metal.
