PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital single-lens reflex camera capable of realizing a constant shutter release time lag at any time, irrespective of photographing operation using either an optical viewfinder unit or an electronic viewfinder unit. SOLUTION: A digital single-lens reflex camera 1 includes a retractable movable mirror 13b disposed in the optical path of an imaging optical system 12a, so as to lead an object image to an optical viewfinder unit 13c. The digital single-lens reflex camera 1 also includes an image display means 46 for displaying the object image photographed by an imaging device 27 with a moving image, in the state that the movable mirror is escaped out of the imaging optical path; and, when a release operation is executed by the photographer during the above moving image display, a control means 41 for starting image data recording operation by the imaging device after the lapse of a predetermined time, taking account of a time required for the movable mirror to escape from inside the imaging optical path to the outside thereof, and a maximum diaphragm drive time in a diaphragm mechanism 72.
