PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To classify even images whose shooting dates are unclear into proper groups at the time of classifying image data with the information of shooting dates into the predetermined number of groups. SOLUTION: Image data with the information of shooting dates are classified into the predetermined number of groups. As for no date image data in which the information of the shooting date is unclear, whether or not the number is a predetermined threshold or less is decided. When this decision is denied, the no date image data are classified into one group, and the other image data are classified into the residual groups.
