PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole joint which is wrapped on a manhole 38 in a manner avoiding the location of a downstream pipe by hooking fastening members 36 on respective engaging portions 26, press-fits a saddle 12 to the manhole 38 with uniform force, and achieves a water cutoff function owing to adhesive contact of a rubber seal 18 with the saddle 12 and the manhole 38 by virtue of this uniform force. SOLUTION: In mounting the manhole joint, the saddle 12 of the manhole joint 10 having the engaging portions 26 is arranged along the manhole 38 via the rubber seal 18. Then the fastening members 36 are inserted into insertion ports 28 formed in the engaging portions 26, respectively, and the fastening member 36 is hooked on the engaging portion 26. Then the fastening members 36 are wrapped on the manhole 38 and fastened by fixtures 30, to thereby press-fit the manhole joint 10 to the manhole 38. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
