PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a yellow sulfide chain-containing organosilicon compound represented by formula (2) having a Gardner color scale of≤9. SOLUTION: In producing the sulfide chain-containing organosilicon compound of the formula (2): (R<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>(3-p)</SB>(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>p</SB>Si-R<SP>3</SP>-S<SB>n</SB>-R<SP>3</SP>-Si(OR<SP>1</SP>)<SB>(3-p)</SB>(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>p</SB>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a monovalent hydrocarbon group; R<SP>3</SP>is a divalent hydrocarbon group; (n) is 2≤n<6 as the average value; and (p) is 0, 1 or 2) by reacting a halogenoalkyl group-containing organosilicon compound of the formula (1): (R<SP>1</SP>O)<SB>(3-p)</SB>(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>p</SB>Si-R<SP>3</SP>-X (wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, and (p) are the same as defined above; and X is a halogen) with anhydrous sodium sulfide and sulfur, the reaction temperature is maintained at≤75°C at least until the addition of each of the raw materials is completed.
