<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is highly reliable, and with which the breaking of the substrate is prevented though the thickness is further reduced, and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with an array substrate 200 provided with a wiring pad part PD to connect a flexible wiring substrate 950, a counter substrate 400 disposed opposite to the array substrate 200, a liquid crystal layer 410 held between the array substrate 200 and the counter substrate 400 and a polarizing plate 220 disposed on the outer surface of the array substrate 200, and is characterized by having the polarizing plate 220 extended to the outside of a substrate end part 200-1 of the array substrate 200 with the wiring pad part PD mounted thereon and tightly adhered to the flexible wiring substrate 950. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
