PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can shorten the time for waiting users for the purpose of printing. SOLUTION: The fixing device comprises a fixing roller 2 for supplying heat to a medium and fixing an image formed on the medium to the medium by the heat, a radiator 11b for emitting heat, and a heat pipe 10 for transmitting the heat of the fixing roller 2 to the radiator 11b. The radiator 11b is arranged outside the contact range of the fixing roller 2 and the heat pipe 10 and is provided with an electromagnetic clutch 12b for changing over whether the heat of the fixing roller is transmitted to the radiator 11b or not.
