PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar antenna capable of being further miniaturized, and improving the gain by using a microstrip antenna element. SOLUTION: On the rear surface of a dielectric substrate 11, a ground surface 12 is provided. For the ground surface 12, the length Wx is set to be aboutλ/4 and is made to act as a resonance element. Also, on the surface of the dielectric substrate 11, an antenna element 13 is provided on the front end part side. On the antenna element 13, two slits 14a and 14b, opening to the front end side, are provided in parallel, while keeping an interval S. In the antenna element 13, a feeding pin 15 is provided at a position separated from a front end byρand a short-circuit pin 16 is provided close to the front end between the slits 14a and 14b, and the antenna element 13 and the ground surface 12 are short-circuited and connected. Also, on the front end face of the dielectric substrate 11, a short-circuit surface 17 for short-circuiting the front end between the slits 14a and 14b of the antenna element 13 and the ground surface 12 is formed.
