PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic fire door closing apparatus which does not damage a notched opening of a hook plate when the fire door is put in, withstands an impact load to stabilize the door in operation and elongates its service life. SOLUTION: In the automatic fire door closing apparatus, in which the hook plate 2 for binding an engagement metal K provided at the door 200 is exposed through the notched opening 11 formed in place in a door housing 1 provided on a wall surface or the like, the notched opening 11 is provided with a shielding piece H which extends toward the hook plate 2 for closing a clearance in the notched opening 11.
