The device has a wedge (12) mounted on a movable carriage (1) having a jack (8) at its lower part. The jack is actuated, by a truck operator using a remote control (6), for being moved closer to a plate (10) when the wedge is placed in front of a wheel of a vehicle, to block the wheel without the possibility of lateral retraction of the wedge. The plate adopts the shape of a tire of the vehicle.
