PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily make branch connection of cables. SOLUTION: A connector 1 is structured from a base block 10 having a rest part capable of receiving an insulation coated cable of a cross-section asymmetric shape, a cover block 20 mountable on the base block 10, and an insulation displacement terminal 30 mounted on the cover block 20. The insulation displacement terminal has insulation displacement parts at its tip protruded into a main cable mounting groove 14 and a branched cable mounting groove 15 fitted to the base block 10. When the cover block 20 is mounted on the base block 10, the insulation displacement part 31a gets in contact with a first conductor 51 of the main cable 50 and the insulation displacement part 31b, with a first conductor 61 of the branched cable, the insulation displacement part 32a, with a second conductor 52 of the main cable 50, and the insulation displacement part 32b, with a second conductor 62 of the branching cable 60, respectively, so that the main cable 50 and the branching cable 60 are electrically conducted by the first conductor 51 being connected with the second conductor 52.
