<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a position of the eyes of a person to be authenticated in an iris authenticating apparatus to a focus range of an image pickup means with high precision at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: This eye image pickup apparatus comprises an image pickup means for picking up an image of an eye 16 of the person to be authenticated 15; a half-mirror 3 for reflecting the eye 16 of the person to be authenticated 15 which is provided on an optical axis 11 of the image pickup means; and an oblique eye position guiding hole 13 which is spaced apart by a given distance from the optical axis 11, has a light source 14 inside, and faces in the direction of the optical axis 11. In the eye position guiding hole 13, a range (t) to which light emitted from the light source 14 reaches on the optical axis 11 is set at least within the focus range of the image pickup means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
