PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power transmission enabling easy miniaturization while securing sufficient capacity. SOLUTION: A torque converter 1 transmitting power from a front cover 2 to a turbine hub 5 via working fluid is provided with a pump impeller 3 attached to the front cover 2 and a turbine runner 4 attached to the turbine hub 5 and facing the pump impeller 3. A projected area ST of a turbine blade 41 included in the turbine runner 4 to a meridional plane is smaller than a projected area SP of a pump blade 31 included in the pump impeller 3 to a meridional plane. The number nT of the turbine blade 41 is more than the number nP of the pump blade 31. At least one of an inner circumference side part 31a and an outer circumference side part 31b of the pump blade 31 is inclined to a rotation direction of the pump impeller 3.
