PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing anα-aminoadipic acid semialdehyde derivative from anα-amino protected form of lysine by using action of enzyme or microorganism, and an enzymatic or microbial method for producing anα-aminoadipic acid derivative from lysine havingα-amino protected derivative or theα-aminoadipic acid semialdehyde derivative. SOLUTION: Theα-aminoadipic acid semialdehyde derivative is produced by using oxidase originating from Rhodococcus or a microorganism (preferably, Rhodococcus) producing the amine oxidase, to transform an aminomethyl group ofα-amino protected form of lysine to an aldehyde group. Theα-aminoadipic acid derivative is produced by using dehydrogenase or a microorganism (preferably, Rhodococcus) producing the dehydrogenase to transform an aldehyde group of theα-aminoadipic acid semialdehyde derivative to a carboxy group.
