PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head which can suppress deformation of a heat generating circuit section and exhibits high reliability. SOLUTION: The thermal print head is equipped with a heat generating circuit section A and a drive circuit section B on a base 11, wherein the heat generating circuit section A comprises a support board 12 forming a glaze layer 13 thereon, a heat generating resistor body 14 formed on the glaze layer 13, electrodes 15 formed on the heat generating resistor body 14 with a space G therebetween and a covering layer 16 covering the heat generating section 14a of the heat generating resistor body 14 exposed at the space G between the electrodes 15, while the drive circuit section B comprises a drive circuit board 19 forming wiring circuit pattern 21 thereon and a wire W connected to the wiring circuit pattern 21, and is provided with a drive IC 20 for controlling the current flowing to the heat generating section 14a and a protective layer 22 protecting the wire W.
