PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner capable of stably containing photos of various sizes. SOLUTION: The image scanner is provided with a container unit including: a main body 111 wherein a plurality of recording media 200, on the front side of each of which an image is recorded, are stacked and contained inside, and provided with openings 111a, 111b at an upper and lower parts of the main body 111; a container cartridge 110 located in the main body 111 and having a bottom plate 112 on which the recording media 200 are placed; and a base plate 120 including a holding part 121 for freely removably holding the container cartridge 110 and a push-up member 123 for pushing-up the recording media 200 from beneath by pushing up the bottom plate 112 in the container cartridge 110 held by the holding part 121.
