PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a deforming part of a cowl from interfering with the other part with a simple constitution, without increasing the length in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, and without arranging a useless space in an engine compartment, even if the cowl is deformed for absorbing its impact, when an object strikes on a windshield from above. SOLUTION: The cowl 11 has a cowl lower 16 extending in a shelf shape to the engine compartment 12 side along the upper edge of a dash panel 13 for partitioning the engine compartment 12 and a cabin, a cowl inner 17 extending in the car width direction along the upper edge of the dash panel 13, and a cowl outer 18 for supporting the front edge of the windshield by overhanging in a shelf shape to the vehicle front side from the upper edge of the cowl inner 17. An impact absorbing member 20 is arranged in a plurality between the cowl outer 18 and the cowl lower 16 for absorbing the impact by being deformed when an impact load acts on the cowl 11 from above.
