The method involves measuring level of a signal emitted from a base at a constant power level and received by a movable entity. A satellite positioning device is triggered if the measured level is lower than a pre-established level due to movement of the entity away from the base beyond a predictable perimeter. Geographical coordinates of the entity are sent to a receiver of the base by a radio transmitter/receiver (2).
