<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small antenna suitable for use in a mobile terminal which is very small in size and usable in various frequency bands for a mobile phone. <P>SOLUTION: The small antenna 10 which is suitable for operation in frequency bands for a mobile phone includes a radiation element 12 forming a conducting plane and including an electrical connection area 20, a small conductivity balance weight 14 including a connection area 36 and a feed line including an antenna cable connected to the connection area 20 of the radiation element 12 and the connection area 36 of the balance weight 14. The radiation element 12 of the small antenna 10 which has two branches 16, 18 that are connected to the antenna cable and has an open loop configuration that defines first and second radiation parts 22, 26.
