PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring ultraviolet radiation, capable of easily and simply measuring information on specific ultraviolet radiation at all times and simultaneously measuring the total quantity of ultraviolet radiation. SOLUTION: Ultraviolet radiation is measured by an ultraviolet radiation receiving element 18 to acquire an observed value of a dose of ultraviolet radiation (step 100). On the basis of a reference intensity ratio (for example, the ratio of the integrated intensity of ultraviolet radiation of the region of a specified ultraviolet wavelength, in a reference solar spectral radiant spectrum to the integrated intensity of ultraviolet radiation determined, on the basis of the solar spectral radiant spectrum and erythema reference action spectrum) and a sun elevation correction factor; the observed value is corrected to determine the intensity of erythema ultraviolet radiation (step 102). The dose of ultraviolet radiation and a UV index are determined on the basis of the intensity of erythema ultraviolet radiation (step 104). Instead of the integrated intensity of ultraviolet radiation on the action spectrum, the integrated intensity of ultraviolet radiation of another specified region is applied, to determine the intensity of ultraviolet radiation of the specific region.
